Parent Workshops, Meetings & Presentations
Chosen Kiddies International School values the partnership between home and school, recognizing that strong collaboration with parents enhances student achievement and wellbeing. To support this, we offer a range of workshops, meetings, and presentations throughout the academic year.
Objectives:
- To empower parents with knowledge about school curriculum, teaching methods, and child development.
- To keep parents informed and engaged in their child’s educational journey.
- To build community and foster open communication between home and school.
Types of Parent Engagement Activities:
- Parent Orientation Meetings
- Held at the start of each academic year or upon admission.
- Introduce school policies, routines, expectations, and curriculum highlights.
- Termly Curriculum Presentations
- Overview of topics being taught and methods of instruction.
- Guidance on how parents can support learning at home.
- Workshops and Seminars
- Topics include literacy and numeracy support, digital safety, emotional wellbeing, and parenting skills.
- Delivered by school staff or external professionals.
- Parent-Teacher Conferences
- Scheduled meetings to discuss student progress, strengths, and areas for growth.
- Collaborative goal-setting between teachers and parents.
- Special Topic Presentations
- Presentations on key school themes like conservation, culture, and communication.
- Opportunities for students to showcase work and parents to ask questions.
- Open Classrooms and Exhibitions
- Parents are invited to observe lessons or view project-based learning outcomes.
- Strengthens understanding of day-to-day school experiences.
Communication Tools:
- Invitations and reminders will be shared via newsletters, text messages, and the SmartSapp platform.
- Translations or interpretation services can be arranged upon request.
Participation Expectations:
- Parents are encouraged to attend at least one workshop or meeting per term.
- Feedback is actively sought to improve the quality and relevance of sessions.
- All parent engagement activities are designed to be welcoming, respectful, and inclusive.
